Last Game of the Century!!!

Isn't it amazing. The end of the century. Who'd ever think we'd still be playing poker
after all this time! Webster defines century as
"cen·tu·ry (sen'che-re)
Noun: cen·tu·ries.

1. A period of 100 years.
2. A unit of the ancient Roman army.
Etymology: Latin centuria, a group of a hundred.

When I think of a period of 100 years, I think of Mikey. But anyway...let's talk turkey.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Now, let's talk poker. To end our century of card playing in style, I think we should all go to Vegas.
But since we're a bunch of cheap, pussy whipped old fu*ks we'll have to settle for my house.
But, to mark this momentous occasion, I will happily (I mean grudgingly) spring for a Chinese feast.

I plan on getting Chicken, Beef, and Veggie dishes (hot and spicy) but if anyone has a favorite
they would like me to order just let me know in advance. The date is Tuesday Dec. 7th
(Pearl Harbor Day for you Vets). Please try to be there by 6pm. If, by chance, you can't make it,
let me know (and you better have a real good excuse too).

So, see ya'll then. BYOC (Bring your own chopsticks) and alcohol for that matter.

And most importantly, don't forget, this is the first week for Mike's Moderate One.

Post Mortem:

The game happened, and right on schedule, except Dwight forgot that we even talked about
Mike's Moderate One and Rob, who can usually be counted on to send out his OPA'S (Official
Poker Announcements) the night before the game, failed to do so, almost causing me to miss
the game. The Chinese food was so good we didn't start playing until almost 8PM but we're
talking more than playing these days anyway. Mark Queijo
and I presented new chips (8 gram clay, five colors, in an oak box) to start
the next eighteen years of monthly meetings.

Poker history was made when Bryan lost all his cards in a game called Criss Cross
(sometimes referred to as Rob's Double Death) but simply repeated itself when the same fool
went low in 727, until everyone was drained dry, at which point, he began taking cards in
an attempt to win high.

The night ended with plans made to go to Foxwoods sometime in the end of Demember (let's
hope this time Rob doesn't forget to remind us all) and a new game to start the next century in January.
